FirstBank has announced plans to host the next edition of its SMEConnect Webinar, a quarterly virtual platform designed to equip small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with the knowledge and resources needed to grow their businesses.

The webinar, scheduled for June 25, 2026, will focus on the theme, “Funding Your Growth: How SMEs Can Access Finance and Scale Faster.”

According to the bank, the initiative is part of its commitment to supporting SMEs through capacity building and providing access to practical tools that can help entrepreneurs navigate an increasingly competitive business environment.

The event will feature a keynote address by former Finance Minister, Kemi Adeosun, who is also the Convener of DashMe Foundation and NIDACITY. A panel discussion will follow, bringing together key stakeholders from the financial and development sectors. Panelists include Oluwatoyin Edu, Executive Director, MSME, at Bank of Industry; Afoluwake Dahunsi; and Helen Willie.

FirstBank said the webinar will provide participants with actionable insights on securing business financing, leveraging digital solutions, and overcoming operational challenges that often limit business growth.

Speaking ahead of the event, Chuma Ezirim underscored the importance of access to finance for SMEs. “Access to capital remains the biggest growth constraint for SMEs.

In this edition, funding will be demystified and entrepreneurs will be shown practical steps to become bankable, to connect to the right tools and partners to scale their businesses faster,” he said.

The SMEConnect platform forms part of FirstBank’s broader efforts to promote entrepreneurship and financial inclusion by connecting business owners with experts, financiers and industry leaders.

The bank noted that the webinar series reflects its belief that informed and empowered businesses are better positioned to thrive, create jobs and contribute to economic growth.

Interested participants can register for the webinar through FirstBank’s registration portal.

FirstBank said it will continue to champion initiatives that drive economic transformation and support entrepreneurs across Nigeria and beyond through knowledge-sharing, innovation and access to financial services.
