Global tools and accessories manufacturer, SALI Tools, has expanded into Nigeria with the establishment of a local office and warehouse facility in Lagos, marking a major step in the company’s West African growth strategy.

The company said the expansion, which commenced in early 2026, includes the deployment of a local operations team comprising Chinese and Nigerian professionals to drive market engagement and strengthen customer support.

According to SALI, the Lagos office has already begun engaging distributors and major hardware markets within the state to better understand local industry needs and user demands.

The Lagos warehouse is expected to serve as a distribution and support hub for Nigeria and neighbouring markets, with the objective of improving product availability, shortening delivery timelines, and enhancing after-sales support.

As part of its initial market entry, SALI is introducing metal cutting discs and grinding wheel products into Nigeria. The company disclosed that the products carry international certifications, including MPA, EN12413, and other European safety standards widely recognised in industrial tool manufacturing.

SALI operates large-scale abrasive manufacturing facilities with an annual production capacity estimated at 150 million cutting and grinding discs. The company currently distributes its products across several international markets and attributes its growth to manufacturing capacity, supply chain expansion, and quality control systems.

Chairman of SALI Tools, Peter Hu, described Nigeria as a strategic market for the company’s long-term African ambitions.

“Nigeria is one of the most important industrial and commercial markets in Africa. We believe there is strong potential for long-term growth, especially within construction, manufacturing, metal processing, and infrastructure development,” Hu said.

He explained that SALI’s Nigerian strategy extends beyond export activities and is focused on establishing a local support framework.

“We are not approaching the market only from a sales perspective. Our goal is to build a localized support structure that allows distributors and customers to access products more efficiently while also receiving technical and operational support where necessary,” he said.

Industry analysts note that Nigeria’s construction and manufacturing sectors continue to fuel demand for industrial tools and hardware products, particularly across infrastructure projects, fabrication, automotive repairs, and small-scale manufacturing operations.

SALI disclosed that it is exploring partnerships with local agents, wholesalers, and hardware retailers as part of its broader expansion strategy.

Hu said the company intends to deepen local engagement through stronger distribution partnerships and sustained operational investment.

“We see localization as an important part of sustainable growth. Building relationships with local businesses and understanding the realities of the market are necessary for long-term success,” he added.

The company’s entry into Nigeria reflects growing interest among international industrial manufacturers in West Africa, as regional demand for construction materials, industrial equipment, and manufacturing support services continues to rise.
