Kano based film artistes Monday night, celebrated one of the Industry’s trailbrazers , Ali Nuhu, following his recent appointment as the Managing Director of the Nigerian Film Corporation.
Speaking at the well attended occasion. Nuhu pledged to drive Nigeria’s film industry to greater heights with emphasis on bringing about positive changes and innovations that would give opportunités and prosperity to members.
“We are going to look into Kannywood on the issue of capacity building and opening of the market because these are the basic problems Kannywood is facing as we speak because I come from there and I know what the problems are. This is the first faze of our plans” he stated.
“I have a package, not just for Kannywood, but the nation in its entirety. From north to south, east to west, he further said.
“We are going to interface and engage with film makers, something that film makers have missed for years because the film cooperation is saddled with that responsibility” he stated.
He thanked the President Bola Ahmad Tinubu, the Vice President, Kashim Shettima, the APC Chairman, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje as well as the Minister of Information and Culture, Muhammad Idris Malagi.
Also addressing journalists at the occasion, Kannywood entertainer, Rahama Muhammad spoke who spoke on behalf of her colleagues, lauded the President Tinubu for appointing one of them from Kannywood as the Managing Director, Nigerian Film Corporation.
The event was attended by several notable personalities ranging from traditional rulers,academicians, politicians to the media.
