FIFA has released the official list of team base camps for the 2026 World Cup, confirming where all 48 participating nations will train and stay during football’s biggest tournament.
The tournament, which kicks off next month across the United States, Canada and Mexico, will see most teams settle in the United States, while a smaller number will operate from Mexico and Canada.
According to FIFA’s announcement on Monday, 39 countries will be based in the United States, seven in Mexico and two in Canada as preparations intensify for the expanded World Cup format.
Defending champions Argentina and European giants England are among the countries that will establish camp in Kansas City, underlining the city’s importance as one of the competition’s major operational hubs.
Argentina will use Sporting KC Training Centre, while England will train at Swope Soccer Village.
FIFA Chief Operating Officer for the 2026 World Cup, Heimo Schirgi, described the camps as central to the tournament experience, saying they serve as the environment where teams train, recover and settle into the daily demands of the competition.

One of the notable developments from the announcement is Iran’s confirmed move to Tijuana, Mexico. The decision comes amid concerns around possible visa complications in the United States.
Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum said her country would permit Iran to operate from Mexico to avoid potential US visa restrictions.
Several other nations will also be based in Mexico, including Colombia, South Korea, South Africa, Tunisia, Uruguay and hosts Mexico, while Canada and Panama will establish their camps on Canadian soil.
Among the major teams, Brazil will operate from the New York-New Jersey area, France will camp in Boston, Germany will be based in North Carolina, Spain will train in Tennessee, while the United States team will use Irvine, California, as its base.
The 2026 World Cup will be the first edition to feature 48 nations, expanding the tournament’s reach and significantly increasing the number of team camps spread across North America.
