Fidson Healthcare has announced the appointment of two new female independent non-executive directors; Dr. Amina Mohammed-Baloni and Mrs. Hannah Emanehi Oyebanjo, in a move aimed at strengthening corporate governance and supporting the company’s long-term growth ambitions.
The company in a statement disclosed that the appointments, approved at a recent Board meeting, would take immediate effect and will be presented for ratification by shareholders at the next annual general meeting.
Mohammed-Baloni, a physician and public health expert with more than 25 years of experience, joined the board with a record of driving reforms in health systems, policy development and clinical governance. A Fellow of the West African College of Physicians and holder of a Master’s in Public Health, she previously served as Commissioner for Health, Kaduna State, where she led several transformative initiatives, including the Zipline drone delivery partnership for medical supplies, pharmaceutical manufacturing expansion efforts, and a widely commended response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
She currently chairs the Bauchi State Specialist Hospital Board and sits on the boards of SCIDaR and ARC-ESM. She is also an alumna of the Harvard Kennedy School, INSEAD Business School and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.

Oyebanjo, Managing Director, Redwood Consulting, is a seasoned business and marketing strategist with over three decades of experience. She has led major brand-building and market expansion efforts for multinational corporations, including during her tenure as Marketing Director at GlaxoSmithKline and Colgate Palmolive.
Her work has earned multiple regional and global recognitions, and in 2025 she joined the faculty of Marketing and Entrepreneurship at the China Europe International Business School. A Fellow of the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria and a member of the Chartered Institute of Directors, she holds degrees in Chemistry and Business Administration and is widely regarded as a thought leader in marketing and leadership development.
Fidson said the appointments reflect its commitment to deepening board capacity with diverse, high-level expertise as it pursues its mission of advancing healthcare in Africa. The company expressed confidence that the new directors will provide strategic guidance critical to sustaining growth and strengthening industry leadership.
