A member of the Presidential Committee on Fertilizer Initiative, Mr. Thomas Etuh, has assured Nigerian farmers that the Federal Government would make available a total of one million metric tons of fertilisers for this year’s wet season farming.
Mr. Etuh, who is also National President, Fertiliser Suppliers and Producers Association of Nigeria (FESPAN), revealed this in Kano during the visit of the Presidential Committee on Fertilizer Initiative to the state.
He held that the Federal Government would provide the fertilizer to farmers by March, 2017 while adding that a bag of both MPK and Urea fertilizer would be sold to farmers across the country at N5, 500.
Etuh added that the Presidential Committee on Fertilizer Initiative was in Kano state as part of their assessment tour to the 36 fertilizer companies in the country.
