The Federal Government has identified five digital banks and mobile money platforms through which selected Nigerians can receive its ₦50,000 monthly cash support under the National Emergency Relief and Stabilisation Intervention (NERSI).

The platforms, listed on the programme’s website, are ALAT by Wema Bank, MoMo PSB, NairaGram, OPay and Moniepoint.

Beneficiaries can access their funds through the platforms’ mobile applications or designated Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD) codes.

The approved platforms and their access codes are:

ALAT by Wema Bank: Dial 94523#.

MoMo PSB: Dial 6710#.

NairaGram: Dial 72600#.

OPay: Dial 95520# or use the mobile application.

Moniepoint: Dial 557327# or use the mobile application.

According to the programme’s guidelines, the cash support is intended for poor and vulnerable households identified through verified national identity records and the National Social Register.

Selected beneficiaries will receive text messages from their designated payment providers, informing them of their selection and explaining how to access the support.

Recipients are required to reply “YES” to the message to confirm their consent to participate in the programme. Following confirmation, a mobile wallet linked to their phone numbers and National Identification Numbers will be created, and the ₦50,000 support will be credited.

Beneficiaries can withdraw the funds through point-of-sale agents or at banks. They can also use the money directly from their mobile wallets to make payments.

The Federal Government stressed that participation in the programme is free, warning Nigerians against individuals demanding payment to facilitate selection or release of the funds.

It said beneficiaries do not need to pay any fee, register separately or visit government offices to access the support.

The programme’s guidelines also advised recipients not to disclose their personal identification numbers, one-time passwords or account passwords to anyone, including payment agents and government officials.

The government said genuine notifications would come only from ALAT, MoMo, NairaGram, OPay or Moniepoint. Beneficiaries would only be required to reply “YES” or use the designated USSD code provided by their payment platform.

It further clarified that not all eligible households would be included in the first batch, warning that nobody could pay to secure a place on the beneficiaries’ list.

The Humanitarian Assistance Programme is the Federal Government’s shock-responsive cash transfer initiative, administered by the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, to provide financial relief to vulnerable households facing rising living costs.
