The Federal Ministry of Education has announced academic calendar for Federal Government Colleges (FGCs) otherwise known as Unity Schools. There are 110 FGCs (Unity Schools) strategically located across the country to promote quality education, peace and harmonious community.
A memo from the Director, Senior Secondary Education, Federal Ministry of Education, Hajia Binta Abdulkadir, indicated that the new academic session starts this weekend, 8th September, 2024, and will run for 14 weeks, closing on 15th December, 2024.
The memo also indicated that there will be one week break on 27th October, 2024 (mid-term breaks), while the holidays start on 15th December, 2024, and run till 9th January, 2025. The ministry, however, highlighted that the dates could be subject to change, encouraging parents and guardians to be aware of the schedule.
