The Federal Government has reiterated its determination to prioritize the issues of the security, human capital development and the overall well – being of all Nigerians.
Minister of Defence, Bello Mohammed Matawalle disclosed this, Saturday night, in his speech at the Hotpen Magazine’s 10th Anniversary and Award Presentation Ceremony held in Kano
He stressed that, “We at the Ministry of Defence will continue to employ all lawful, necessary means to defend the integrity of Nigeria from all forms of threats”
He assured that they were aware of the critical role of security of lives and property in nation-building and global development and would do everything possible to ensure that Nigerians were secured.
“It is through addressing these issues that we equip ourselves with the necessary tools to tackle the challenges of our time, and contribute meaningfully to the progress of our nation” he declared.
He expressed gratitude to the media house for his award in the field of leadership, security and corporate governance.
“In our rapidly changing world, security, effective leadership and sound governance are indispensable for sustainable development and the well-being of our citizens” he stated.
“I pledge to use the recognition and insights underlined by this Hotpen award, to contribute positively to the development and progress of our nation,” he declared.
He charged all his fellow awardees to cherish the recognition and be inspired by it in the service of the country.
Earlier speaking, the Publisher and Editor-in-Chief of the publication, Aliyu Dangida lauded the contributions of all the awardees and held that the Minister, in particular, had demonstrated a keen understanding of the economic dimensions of security.
“He recognizes that addressing the root causes of insecurity requires a holistic approach that includes socioeconomic development initiatives,” he stated.
Among dignitaries who received awards at the high profile occasion included included the Deputy President of the Senate, Barau Jibrin, Katsina State Governor, Dikko Umar Radda and Senator Ibrahim Shekarau among others.
