The aides attached to the Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Ramatu Tijani, threw caution to the wind and engaged the security details at the national secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in a free for all fight.
Trouble started when the minister’s security detail deliberately slapped the APC Chief Security Officer (CSO) at the main entrance gate to the headquarters of the ruling party in Abuja.
His action, according to an eyewitness, had infuriated the police officers and other security men within the party premises, resulting in their retaliation by beating the overzealous aides to the minister.
“At that point, the minister’s entire security apparatus came down from their various official vehicles and engaged the APC security men at the gate, while the minister sat inside the car comfortably without coming down to intervene and restore sanity,” the eye witness narrated.
The source added that “the same security aids also rough-handled a journalist trying to capture the free-for-all fight and in the attempt to seize his phone, resulted in a renewed fight from the APC security details alongside other journalists bent on rescuing the molested journalist.”
However, to avoid the situation degenerating to a more dangerous extent, Tinaji quickly exited the party national secretariat; “upon realising that journalists were on the ground witnessing the breakdown of law and order by her security detail at the Buhari’s house while the convoy followed, driving recklessly to scare passers-by and onlookers.”
