In a bold move that sends a powerful message in the fight against Nigeria’s deadly malaria scourge, the Federal College of Animal Health and Production Technology (FCAH&PT) Ibadan has officially joined the war on disease by enrolling every single student in the revolutionary Geneith Health Competition. This unprecedented step underscores the college’s unwavering commitment to health education and youth empowerment — and it’s sending shockwaves across the nation!

The Geneith Health Competition, organized by CEOAFRICA and sponsored by the giant pharmaceutical firm Geneith Limited, is a first-of-its-kind initiative in Africa. Focused on raising malaria awareness, education, and advocacy among students, this game-changing contest aims to turn Nigeria’s youth into frontline warriors against the deadly disease. With critical knowledge on prevention, treatment, and community advocacy, students are set to become powerful catalysts for change.

The official flag-off took place on September 16, 2025, in the college’s conference room, attended by top management, health sector heavyweights, and passionate supporters of Nigeria’s health revolution. Since its launch in Abuja earlier this year, the GHC has gained momentum, backed by influential figures like the Minister of Health, Prof. Muhammad Ali Pate, and other health leaders who see the initiative as a crucial step towards a malaria-free Nigeria.

Dr. Chidi Nweze Okpeze, Acting Provost of FCAH&PT, declared the institution’s resolve: “Enrolling our students in the Geneith Health Competition is a game-changer. It’s about empowering young minds to understand malaria better and take ownership of their health, which ultimately benefits our entire nation.” His words echo President Bola Tinubu’s eight-point agenda aimed at revitalizing Nigeria’s healthcare system.

The event was a show of unity — with key figures like Prince Cletus Ilobanafor, MD/CEO of CEOAFRICA, emphasizing the stakes: “Ninety-six percent of diseases reported in our school clinics are linked to malaria. We are channeling ₦1 billion in sponsorship, including ₦420 million for scholarships and cash awards, to make sure our youth become the vanguards of a malaria-free Nigeria.”

And the message is loud and clear from the student leaders. Akanbi-Stone Adeola, SUG President, called the initiative a “life-changing opportunity,” vowing: “Our generation is ready to end malaria once and for all. We’re taking this fight seriously and won’t rest until Nigeria is free of this killer disease.”

With enrollments open until February 15, 2026, other institutions are being urged to follow FCAH&PT’s lead and join this historic movement. If you’re ready to be part of Nigeria’s health revolution, visit www.geneithhealthcompetition.com now!
