QAHE admits Nigerian academic Festus Asikhia as associate member

Professor Festus Uwakhemen Asikhia has been admitted as an Associate Member of the International Association for Quality Assurance in Pre-Tertiary and Higher Education (QAHE) for the 2026–2027 membership cycle.

According to a statement, the membership was confirmed on June 26, 2026, by the International QAHE Association. The organisation said the membership is intended for professionals involved in education, institutional governance and quality assurance.

Asikhia’s admission comes amid growing global attention on quality assurance and governance standards in higher education.

The academic holds degrees in sociology, social work, human resource management, law and health management. He also completed postdoctoral studies in psychology and has undertaken executive programmes in wellbeing and artificial intelligence in healthcare.

According to the statement, Asikhia serves as Professor of Governance and Leadership at Atlantic International University, Honorary Director at Pebble Hills University, and Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Corporate Governance) at Citiedge University.

Beyond academia, he has authored books and research publications on governance, leadership and business. He also contested for the Federal Capital Territory Senate seat on the platform of the Zenith Labour Party during the 2023 general election.

The statement said the QAHE membership reflects Asikhia’s involvement in higher education, governance and institutional quality assurance.
