Premier League club, Everton was offered the opportunity to sign Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze ahead of Monday’s transfer deadline, according to journalist Graeme Bailey.
Bailey reported via Everton News that the Toffees turned down the chance to secure the 25-year-old’s signature, despite their long-standing interest in the player.
With David Moyes’ team now abandoning the pursuit of Chukwueze, Fulham was reportedly attempting to sign him before the transfer window closed.
Given Everton’s current struggles at right, where Jack Harrison and Jesper Lindstrom have struggled to perform this season, Chukwueze would have made an ideal addition to the squad.
The 25-year-old has made 59 appearances for the Serie A club since moving from Villarreal in 2023, where he played over 200 games.
He is also a proven player on the international stage, having earned 34 caps for Nigeria and scoring six goals, though his overall goalscoring record has had its inconsistencies.
