Manchester United legend Gary Neville has spoken out on the future of Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah, questioning whether the 33-year-old would stay with the Reds or leave during the January transfer window following the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, in Morocco.
Liverpool boss Arne Slot recently welcomed Salah back into the team, which defeated Brighton 2-0 over the weekend.
This comes after the Egyptian international gave a controversial interview, in which he suggested he had been ‘thrown under the bus’ by Slot.

While talking about Salah’s future at Anfield, Neville said to NBC Sports: “Saturday was not a lap of honour of him leaving, it was more of a case of him going to AFCON, and then he can come back and play for Liverpool.
“The one thing that I feel about this is that Arne Slot said he was looking for an apology.
“We’ve not heard that he [Salah] has apologised, so is he behind the manager?
“So maybe Salah will leave [Liverpool]. But my gut feeling is that he stays this season at Liverpool.”
