Arsenal have reached an agreement with Turkish Super Lig side Besiktas for the permanent transfer of Belgian forward Leandro Trossard, bringing the 31-year-old’s successful spell in North London close to an end.
The Premier League champions confirmed the agreement in a statement on Tuesday, revealing that the transfer is now subject to the completion of the player’s medical examination and other formalities in Turkey.
“We can confirm that we have reached an agreement with Besiktas for the permanent transfer of Leandro Trossard,” Arsenal said.
The club added that the Belgian international had been granted permission to travel to Istanbul to finalise the move.
“With a transfer fee agreed, Leo, 31, has been granted permission to travel to Istanbul to undergo a medical and complete the formalities of his move to the Turkish Super Lig club.”
Arsenal noted that a further announcement would be made once all aspects of the transfer had been completed.

Trossard joined the Gunners from Brighton & Hove Albion in January 2023 after Arsenal agreed a deal worth £27 million, including performance-related add-ons.
During his time at the Emirates Stadium, the versatile attacker established himself as an important member of Mikel Arteta’s squad, helping Arsenal secure their first Premier League title in 22 years last season.
He also lifted the FA Community Shield in 2023 and played a significant role in Arsenal’s run to the 2025/26 UEFA Champions League final.
On the international stage, Trossard impressed for Belgium at the ongoing 2026 FIFA World Cup, scoring twice against New Zealand during the group stage as the Red Devils reached the quarter-finals before suffering a 2-1 defeat to eventual finalists Spain.
Meanwhile, Besiktas confirmed the player’s arrival in Turkey by sharing photographs of Trossard after he landed in Istanbul to complete the transfer.
The move is expected to be finalised once the Belgian successfully completes his medical examination and signs the necessary contractual documents, ending a memorable chapter of his career with Arsenal.
