Secondary school students across Enugu State have been exposed to practical skills in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and robotics following a two-day workshop held on December 28 and 29, 2025, aimed at inspiring innovation and strengthening interest in science and technology.
The workshop brought together students from various schools for an intensive, hands-on learning experience that moved beyond classroom theory.
According to statement issued after the training, participants designed simple robots, wrote basic computer code and explored real-life applications of Artificial Intelligence, transforming the venue into an active innovation hub.
The initiative received support from Chinedu Okoro, who has been promoting educational empowerment for young people through technology-focused programmes.
Technology experts from Europe and the United States facilitated the sessions, which focused on experiential learning, teamwork and problem-solving. Students worked in groups to develop projects, which they presented at the end of the programme.
One of the participants described the experience as eye-opening, noting that the workshop reinforced the belief that students from Enugu could compete and innovate on a global stage.
The workshop was organised in collaboration with the Enugu State Government’s education initiatives, aimed at preparing students for future careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).
The Enugu State Government was represented at the event by the Attorney General of the state, Osinachi Nnajieze, who reaffirmed the government’s commitment to advancing educational and technological development among youth.
