Banker-turned nightclub owner and Managing Director of Platinum Lounge,Dubem Oguegbu has asserted that Enugu is the next hub of entertainment in Nigeria given the nightlife that is booming in the old Coal City.
According to the Anambra State-born man, only Lagos surpasses Enugu in nightlife activities with regards to nightclubbing.
“We are the next city to Lagos now. We have a serene and safe environment, thanks to our able Governor of Enugu State. A lot of people are investing now in the nightlife business and that also promotes hospitality too,” he said of Enugu being the hub of entertainment in the Southeast region.
The world is beginning to focus on Enugu Southeast as it has grown and the town is very safe and serene for investment. We needed to relax, have fun and thank God for giving us life. Very soon many other nightclubs will spring up to add to the vibrancy of the burgeoning nightlife. Shows and concerts are also happening in the State to add to its credential as the Southeast entertainment hub,” Oguegbu added.
Dubem Oguegbu and his partner, Christian Osuinyi floated Platinum Lounge in 2012 and it has since been the most talked about in Enugu and beyond.
Dubem Oguegbu was a banker for many years before finding his calling in the nightclub business. He worked with Diamond Bank Plc from 2007 to 2012. After the banking experience he floated Platinum Lounge.
Dubem Oguegbu is a certified engineer with COREN (The Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria). He studied Mechanical Engineering at Anambra State University, Uli 2005/2006 graduating set.
