Enugu: APGA rejects entire process, says it’s flawed

Anambra Assembly poll: APGA wins 17 seats, LP 8, YPP 3, PDP 2

From Geoffrey Anyanwu, Enugu

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Enugu State chapter has described last Saturday’s governorship election in the state as a sham and serious dent on Nigeria’s democracy.

The State Chairman, Ndubuisi Enechionyia, who stated this in Enugu, yesterday, said  the election was a complete fraud carried out without regard to the Electoral Law 2022 and INEC guidelines.

He said the election in the state was marred by malfeasance, violence and illegalities and condemned it out rightly.

“We completely reject the entire process and consider whatever the outcome as flawed, ” he said hoping for a new era in the state.

The APGA boss said the party would wait for the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) to announce a conclusive result before making its final stand known on the poll.

“While we await the announcement of a conclusive result by INEC, we would like to state categorically that APGA condemns the gross malfeasance, violence and illegalities that characterised the election.”

He said APGA was impressed and celebrates the courage and dedication of those who braved the violence and threats and turned out to vote.
