Sons and daughters of Igboland have been called upon to emulate the leadership qualities of the Chairman of indigenous power company, Geometric Power Limited (GPL), Prof. Barth Nnaji, in expanding development in the region.
A frontline politician, Chief Adonis Igwe who made the call on Saturday while commending
Nkanu people of Enugu State, for the honour bestowed on Prof. Nnaji as the “Echeribe N’ Nkanụ,” said like Nnaji other Igbo sons and daughters should think of what they could do to advance the igbo cause.
Making reference to the Scripture in John 5:35, where Jesus Christ referred to John the Baptist as “a burning and a shining light: and ye were willing for a season to rejoice in his light,” Igwe described Nnaji as the shining light of the East and Nigeria at large.”
He stressed that the renowned professor of Computer Integrated Manufacturing and Robotics, deserves every honour being giving to him as he has paid his dues.
Igwe, who is also the chairman of CNPP in Enugu state said, “As an altruistic leader (Echeribe) as the title implies, there is no doubt that Prof. Barth Nnaji has paid his dues not just in Nkanu but in Igbo land and Nigeria. Apart from his intellectual prowess, Prof. Barth Nnaji is one person I know that has made tremendous positive change in many people’s lives.
“As someone who is altruistic in nature, complacency doesn’t exist in his life, while humility and accountability remains his guiding principle. His love for humanity and passion for the development of Alaigbo is indeed a source of pride to me as a person. As someone who has been at the forefront of Igbo cause, I feel so elated that this ingenuity of a worthy of son of Igboland is happening in my life time and call on the younger generation to emulate Prof. Barth Nnaji and think of what they can do to advance the igbo cause.”
While commending the people of Nkanu for envisioning such an event to honor a worthy son. Igwe called on Ndigbo in general, to replicate the same and honor this great man who has made Igbo race proud in so many ways.
He added that “If such personality like Prof. Barth Nnaji can be replicated across the six geo political zones in the country, I tell you that this country will sure stand on it feet and compete with other advanced countries in the world.”
