…As Adejumo charges widows to be resilience
The Elitist Shift Foundation at the weekend held a ‘Widows Wake-Up’ Summit in Lagos in order to help widows move from loss to purpose.
The theme of the summit was “Rising in Resilience, Hope and Purpose”. The event was organized under the auspices of Widows Evolve Initiative, which is an arm of Speaking at the event, the founder of Elitist Shift Foundation, Dr. Taiwo Adejumo, said that the objective of the foundation is to coach and mentor widows with knowledge and empower them to thrive.
She narrated her own story in widowhood and how faith, hope and resilience helped her to thrive despite the loss of her husband at an early age in marriage.
She stated that she is challenging the elite in society to use their resources to uplift widows, the poor and vulnerable.
According to Lady Adejumo, the Nigerian elite have abandoned their responsibility to the widows, the poor and vulnerable in society, adding that she wants to cause a paradigm shift in how the elite use their resources.
She argued that the elite and the wealthy have a social responsibility to support widows and the poor and lift them out of poverty.

“I want to ignite a fire in their hearts to live up to their responsibility of deploying their resources for the good of all,” adding that the country will be a better place if there is even distribution of resources.
She frowned at the way widows are treated in the country and called for a fair treatment of those that have lost their husbands.
She disclosed that her mission is to help those that have been dealt with unjustly and to lift up and empower them with skills and the mindset that will enable them to thrive.
According to Lady Adejumo, she wants to shine the light of God where there seems to be no hope.
She called on the women to embrace innovation and creativity to drive meaningful change.
She pledged to engage in advocacy that will lift the status of widows and vulnerable people in society.
Other speakers at the event charged the widows to overcome their fear and face the challenges that face them
