Elections: Ogun Speaker votes, commends INEC for improved exercise

The Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Suraj Ishola Adekunbi, has commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for improving and correcting the lapses identified during presidential and National Assembly polls.

The speaker, who gave this commendation shortly after he cast his vote at about 9.40a.m, at polling Unit 0014, Mechanic Junction, Ayetoro, also thumbed up the impressive turnout and peaceful conduct of the voters.

According to Adekunbi, the large turnout of voters indicated that people were ready to vote for their representatives who will pilot the affairs of the state in the next four years.

While commending the security operatives for ensuring peaceful conduct of the poll, the speaker expressed the hope that the polls would be peaceful throughout.

He also charged the voters to continue to conduct themselves in orderly manner, noting that the exercise, which started on a peaceful note would also end without rancour or violence.
