Queen Aishat Yerima Aliyu Dahiru, national president, Arewa for Asiwaju, and director, women affairs, Arewa Support Movement, has charged her members and all non-indigenes in Lagos State to show some love for the incumbent governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and his deputy, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, by voting them for a second term in office. She also implored the congregants to accord the same gesture to Hon. Gbolahan Olusegun Yishawu, who is vying for the Eti-Osa Constituency in the elections of March 18, 2023.

She gave the charge during the prayer session she organized today, Friday, March 17, at the APC secretariat in Ikoyi, Lagos.

In her words: “It is necessary to allow them carry on with the good work of development they have already embarked upon in the state.

“This is why we are gathered here to pray. We believe in prayer. Without it, we cannot achieve anything. Our focus of prayers is for peaceful and successful election.”

At the event, Alhaji Ado Shuaibu Dansudu, national vice chairman, Arewa United Consultative Forum, however, called on youths to desist from hooliganism and nefarious acts during and after the elections.
“We should live in peace and harmony. That is the bedrock of democracy,” he said.

Mohammed M. Lawal, director-general, Arewa Support Movement, noted that the prayer session was also aimed at making sure Arewa members in Lagos are conversant with their choice of candidates as they go to the the polls.
He said, “Sanwo-Olu is our choice because of the long relationship we have had. Also, he has done meritoriously well in Lagos State. So, he deserves a second chance in office.”

Remarkably, the prayer session had in attendance Muslim and Christian faithful, all united in their goal of peaceful polls in the state this Saturday.
