The lawmaker representing Ado Constituency I in the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Hon Ayodeji Adegbite, has expressed concern over delays and non-compliance with Assembly resolutions by some ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs) in the state.
While noting that the development undermines legislative oversight, slows down service delivery to citizens and hinders progress in the state, he urged all MDAs to adhere strictly to resolutions passed by the House in the interest of the people and the state at large.
Presenting the motion on the floor of the House on Friday, Adegbite said Assembly resolutions reflect the collective will of the people and are essential tools for ensuring accountability, effective policy implementation and improved service delivery.
The motion, according to him, recommended formal transmission of resolutions to relevant MDAs with clear timelines, systematic monitoring by House Committees and periodic reporting on compliance.

It also advocated constructive engagement with agencies facing implementation challenges and closer collaboration between the legislature and the executive.
“This is not about creating conflicts but strengthening transparency and institutional cooperation within government institutions for the benefit of the people of the state.”
He also noted that the motion aligned with the state governor, Biodun Oyebanji’s agenda for good governance, emphasising the shared responsibility of all arms of government and public institutions to serve citizens effectively.
Adegbite reaffirmed his commitment to legislative actions that will continue to promote responsible governance, institutional efficiency and improved quality of life for residents of the state.
