Comedian and youth advocate, Ekene Smith Adigwu has unveiled a new initiative, LAFF Supper, a comedy and talent discovery event aimed at empowering young creatives and giving emerging entertainers a platform to showcase their abilities.
The event, scheduled for April 6, 2026, which coincides with Easter Monday, will be held at the Trinity House Zion Centre on Trinity Avenue, off Water Corporation Road, Victoria Island.
LAFF Supper is a flagship project of the Ekene Smith Adigwu Youth Foundation, a non-profit organisation dedicated to youth empowerment and talent discovery across Africa.
Speaking on the vision behind the initiative, Adigwu explained that the programme goes beyond entertainment and is designed to identify, nurture, and promote young talents within the comedy and creative industry.
“Our mission is to create opportunities for young people who have the talent but lack the platform. LAFF Supper is one of the ways we are opening doors for the next generation of comedians and entertainers,” he told Saturday Sun.
The foundation has built its reputation around initiatives that uplift young people, encourage creative expression, and provide humanitarian support to vulnerable groups. Its programmes also extend to supporting widows, orphanages, and other less-privileged communities.
Organisers say LAFF Supper will bring together families, comedy lovers, and members of the creative community for an evening of laughter, inspiration, and meaningful engagement.
One of the highlights of the programme will be an Open Mic Comedy Challenge, which will provide aspiring comedians with the opportunity to perform before a live audience and industry stakeholders. The best-performing comedian of the night will receive a grand prize of ₦1 million.
