The Leo Stan Ekeh Foundation, in partnership with TD Africa, Konga Group, Zinox Technologies and Task Systems, will launch a major scholarship scheme targeting 1,000 indigent but brilliant Nigerian students in technology.
Organisers said the application portal, earlier slated for April 22, will now open on April 27, 2026, following final technical adjustments aimed at ensuring a smooth, secure and transparent process for applicants nationwide.
The initiative, conceived by Chairman of Zinox Group, Leo Stan Ekeh, is part of efforts to expand access to technology education and empower young Nigerians. It was first unveiled on February 22, 2025, to mark his 70th birthday, with the tech entrepreneur opting to invest in human capital development rather than host a ceremonial celebration.
Under the scheme, beneficiaries will study Computer Science in federal universities, with the programme designed to build a pipeline of highly skilled professionals for Nigeria’s growing digital economy.

Ekeh said the project builds on decades of investment in capacity development, having supported over 6,700 beneficiaries through various interventions. The goal, he noted, is to raise a new generation of tech experts capable of supporting both public and private sector growth while strengthening Nigeria’s global competitiveness.
Beyond tuition support, beneficiaries will gain access to mentorship, technical training and industry exposure, including guidance from members of the Nigeria Computer Society. The programme is structured to equip students with practical, market-relevant skills alongside academic learning.
Industry observers said the collaboration among leading technology firms is expected to deliver a robust training ecosystem that will produce future-ready innovators and deepen Nigeria’s digital talent pool.
The scholarship also extends Ekeh’s long-standing contributions to Nigeria’s ICT sector, particularly through indigenous computer production and large-scale digital transformation projects driven by Zinox Technologies.
Interested applicants are advised to visit the Konga platform on the launch date, where application guidelines and the scholarship portal will be made available. Organisers assured that the selection process will be merit-based, inclusive and transparent, with candidates drawn from across the country.
