The Chairman of Toto Local Government Council of Nasarawa State, Alhaji Aliyu Tashas, has in the spirit of the Eid-El-Fitr celebrations called on Nigerians to embrace and love amongst themselves.
Tashas made the remarks in his Eid-El-1Fitr message to newsmen in Toto LGA on Wednesday.
He appreciated Allah for the privilege to commence and complete the Ramadan fasting successfully and admonished muslim faithfuls and nigerians of other religions to embrace peace and love one another irrespective of their differences.
“My Sallah message is for us to embrace peace and love one another because nobody is an island. We need to love one another.
“We need one another for us to progress. So in that regard peace is the key to development. In a society of rancour, there will be no development. Shedding blood of innocent people will do us no good.
“I am appealing to all of us to tolerate one another and live in peace and harmony,” he said.
In another interview, Barr. Labaran Magaji, Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General of the state also called for a collaborative effort in ensuring the sustenance of peace in Toto local government area, Nasarawa state and the country at large.
Magaji thanked Governor Abdullahi Sule for his efforts in protecting lives and properties in the state and called on the people of the state to make peace their watchword.
“We should avoid a situation where we will take laws into our hands. The government is doing effectively well in ensuring that the security agencies are on hand to take care of any insecurity challenges,” he said
Also, Alhaji Auwalu Dantasidi, National President, National Artisanal and Small Scale Mining Cooperative Society (NASSMCS) also called on muslims to imbibe lessons learnt during the Ramadan period.
“Lessons of love, peace and generosity to the poor must not be taken lightly. I also call on all muslims to see every Nigerian irrespective of their political or religious beliefs as their brothers and sisters,” he said.
He prayed that the supplications of every believing Muslim shall be answered by God, as he wished Nigerians a blessed Eid-el-Fitr holiday.
