EEDC restructures, appoints Jayaraman as acting MD/CEO

The Board of Director, Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) recently completed a comprehensive organisational restructuring aimed at realigning its strategies, direction and priorities to more readily achieve its target ATC&C loss reduction, improve network reliability and customer service.
This restructuring exercise includes changes in its Executive Management as well as reevaluation of its staffing policy with a view to ensuring efficiency  in its processes and operations.
Consequently, Mr. Robert Dickerman has stepped down as the Managing Director/ Chief Executive Officer of EEDC effective October 27, 2016; while Engr. Srinivas Jayaraman, who was until recently the Deputy Managing Director/Chief Operating Officer has been appointed the Acting Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the company.
Jayaraman  is a power sector professional with over 38 years experience. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering Degree from National Institute of Technology, Nagpur, India; a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Nagpur University, India and a Diploma in Export Import Management from Bombay Chamber of Commerce and Industries, India.
He played a key role in making the New Delhi Model which Nigerian electricity power sector reform programme was modelled after, the most successful Power privatisation model in India. During his tenure with Tata Power New Delhi as Head Projects, he led its strategic Loss Reduction Projects resulting in drastic reduction in AT& C Losses. In the course of his career, Engr. Jarayaman has worked as Chief Technical Officer, Essel Utilities India; Chief Operating Officer, Sadbhav Engineering; Director, Acore  Dubai; General Manager, Mfar Constructions, Oman and as Head, Profit Centre, Mustafa & Jawad, OMAN.
EEDC is focused on flattening its structure by identifying and eliminating redundant levels and replacing them with more people at operation levels, thereby ensuring it has enough manpower to attend to the rising needs of its esteemed customers.
In view of this development, EEDC is recruiting over 1000 Technicians in the immediate future, with plans to increase this number to 2000 by the end of this year, thereby increasing its staff strength to over 4,000.
