Education tool for social integration – Ilechukwu, Peaceland University VC

The Vice Chancellor of Peaceland University, Enugu, Rev. Fr. Leonard Ilechukwu, has emphasized the critical role of education in integrating individuals into society.

Speaking to newsmen yesterday in his office in Enugu through Ihemegbunem Okafor, Public Relations Officer of the institution, Professor Ilechukwu highlighted the transformative power of education in the society.

Ilechukwu said, “A person equipped with education can achieve self-realization, develop national consciousness, promote unity, and strive for social, economic, political, scientific, cultural, and technical progress,” said Professor Ilechukwu.

He stressed the unique role of universities in this mission, noting, “It is only a good university that can perform these functions and much more. This is why we are focusing on Peaceland University, Enugu, in the context of meaningful, purposeful, positive, and creative education with new ideas.”

Reflecting on the university’s development, the Vice Chancellor recalled Peaceland University’s foundation, which aims to produce highly dedicated, conscious, and efficient manpower for all levels of the nation’s workforce.

He explained that the university prepares its graduates to integrate into the social fabric of their communities and contribute to national education objectives.

He said that Peaceland University offers a diverse range of programmes, including Accountancy, Management, Entrepreneurship, International Relations, Diplomacy, Microbiology, Industrial Chemistry, Cyber Security, Software Engineering, Educational Management, Guidance and Counseling, Economics, Computer Science Education, Nursing Science, Public Health, and Medical Laboratory Science.

In addition, the Director of the Interim Joint Matriculation Board Examination (IJMBE) at Peaceland University, Lawrence Egbe, urged parents and guardians to consider the institution as their children’s first choice.

He highlighted that the IJMBE programme offers students the opportunity to study their preferred disciplines in Nigerian universities after one year of graduation from the programme.
