The Delta State Police Command has arrested Clinton Awuerowswo, a 23-year-old suspected cultist who had been on the run since March after firearms were recovered from his residence.
Awuerowswo, alias Clinbaby, was arrested on October 23 by operatives of Oghara Division.
The Police Public Relations Officer of the command, SP Bright Edafe, disclosed this in a statement issued on Friday.
According to the command spokesman, Awuerowswo had been at large following the recovery of firearms from his residence on March 23, 2026.
The exhibits recovered include one Beretta pistol, two locally made cut-to-size guns, three live cartridges, a battle axe and a jackknife.
“During preliminary investigation, the suspect reportedly admitted ownership of the weapons and membership of the Eiye confraternity. Investigation is ongoing,” Edafe said.
The Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, CP Samuel E. Erale, warned against cultism and unlawful possession of firearms.
He reaffirmed the command’s commitment to sustained operations against criminal groups while urging residents to provide credible information with assurances of confidentiality.
