Mrs Olubukola disclosed this at the Passing-Out ceremony of the 2021 Batch ‘B’ Stream 1 Corps members held at the Imaguero Secondary School in Benin City.

“On the flip side, a total of 18 Corps members who absconded from service will have to repeat the entire service year in another location, while four others will have their service year extended”, she said.

Olubukola added that a total of 1503 Corps members are passing out, of which, have distinguished themselves throughout the service year in the areas of their Primary Assignments, Community Development Service, general conduct as well as their special contributions during the orientation exercise.

Earlier, the acting governor of the state, Philip Shaibu, expressed profound appreciation for the scheme’s tremendous contributions in putting in place numerous community-based development projects.

He said the commendable efforts of the scheme are in consonance with “Making Edo Great Again agenda of the Obaseki administration.

The acting governor reminded the outgoing Corps members to put into use what they have learnt during their service year to be self-employed noting that the nation’s labour market has been oversaturated.

“I must not fall to remind you that the labour market is over-saturated globally. As a proactive response, the NYSC Management introduced the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) training to groom Nigerian youths into finished labour champions.

“In line with this vision, my administration maintains a course of action that guarantees short and long term credit facilities to young entrepreneurs with viable ideas to translate into meaningful endeavours.

“I, therefore, implore you to utilise the various forms of experience garnered during the service year and the opportunities available to establish small-scale enterprises, which will not only make you self-employed but also employers to labour,” he said.
