Efforts to boost the economy of Ebonyi State has gained traction with the state government acquiring an extrusion machine to resuscitate its pipe production industry at Ezzamgbo in Ohaukwu Local Government Area of the state.

Commissioner for Commerce, Industry and Business Development, Chief Oguzor Offia-Nwali who stated this in Abakaliki at the weekend, said the machine will soon be installed.

“With the aid of this sophisticated machine, once installed, our pipe production industry will triple its production by producing varying degrees and lengths of pipes simultaneously,” he said.

Offia-Nwali said that the procurement of the machine was in line with the state governor’s effort in ensuring that the pipe production industry was optimally functional.

He also said that the production would comprise such sizes of pipe as 20mm, 25mm, 140mm among others, create more job opportunities and boost the state’s internally generated revenue.

He thanked the governor and appealed to the people to always support the administration as it implements the People’s Charter of Needs blueprint.
