Ebere Joy admonishes Nigerian parents to create emotional bonds with their children

May is always celebrated as the mental health awareness all round the world including Nigeria. In this regard, Ebere joy who is a youth advocate and writer visited the Government science technical college garki Abuja to educate the students on the need to embrace a healthy lifestyle to ensure productive and wellbeing.

During her lecture, so many of the students complained of their parent’s absence in their lives, they also shared that in their homes, their parents fail to understand their emotional needs as growing children and sometimes these drives them to seek comfort and advice from others.

We all know that “presence” goes beyond watching tv together or providing meals or paying school fees, parents should endeavor to listen, understand and cultivate early friendships with their children as this will help them develop cognitive, socio-cultural, physical, mental, and spiritual development of a child.

In a world full of pressure and social vices, the family is a strong tool for societal change and development, and they should rise up to this challenge and do better.

Along with Queen Ebere Joy was also Mr Kingsley Amako, who is the founder, African fashion and Arts award, Mrs Lynda Agiriga, Mr Jakpo ukueku and a host of other mental health advocates who admonished the students and teachers to protect their space, the society, their environment and overall to be kind.

Queen Ebere Joy is the 11th Miss Tourism Nigeria and a certified business consultant who is using her expertise and platform to advocate and promote sustainable tourism through skill acquisition and entrepreneurship.
