…Urges Nigerians to Embrace Harmony Amid Cultural Celebrations
From Abel Leonard, Lafia
In the spirit of Easter and the celebration of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, Dr. David Emmanuel Ombugadu, the 2023 gubernatorial candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Nasarawa State, has called for peace and unity among residents of the state and all Nigerians.
Ombugadu made these remarks while attending the cultural day celebration at Agwa Kuya Ikka Wangibi electoral ward, on Sunday where he donated N20 million to the Wangibi Community to build and furnish an ICT center aimed at training youths. He emphasized the importance of leaving aside bitterness and embracing patriotism regardless of religious, political, or ethnic affiliations.
“This donation is a demonstration of my commitment to the welfare and empowerment of our youths,” Ombugadu stated. “I urge all Nigerians to use this period of Easter for sober reflection, exhibiting sacrifice, love, and support for one another, especially for the less privileged in our society.”
He further encouraged Christians to intensify prayers for the nation and its leadership, emphasizing the importance of faith in overcoming the challenges facing the country.
“The cultural festival coinciding with Easter and the end of Ramadan fasting is a unique and special moment for unity and understanding among Nigerians,” Ombugadu remarked. “I am grateful for the support of the Wangibi Nation and pledge my continued support for their projects.”
The donation, according to Ombugadu, is part of efforts to ensure lasting impact within the state and beyond, aligning with the principles of Easter and the spirit of goodwill towards all.
Daily Sun gathered that the Wangibi Community expressed gratitude for the support received from Ombugadu and pledged to utilize the funds effectively for the benefit of their youth and the community at large.
