The Chief Executive Officer of Afro Villa Ltd and Mburubu Construction Company Ltd, High Chief Jerry Patrick Onuokaibe, has called on Christians all over the world to use this year’s Easter celebration to reflect deeply on the life and sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Onuokaibe made this call in an Easter message sent to newsmen on Saturday.
He stated that Easter is a period of solemn reminder of immense love and selflessness as demonstrated by Jesus Christ, rather than just festivities and joyous gatherings.
He encouraged individuals to emulate Christ’s virtues of compassion, forgiveness, and unwavering faith during this season of renewal and rebirth.
Chief Onuokaibe highlighted that the feast extends beyond historical events to practical application in daily lives, where selflessness and love for others are paramount, thus, urging for unity and collective prayer among the people of Mburubu for the betterment of their community, stressing the importance of seeking peace, prosperity, and positive transformation.
The statement reads: “As we celebrate Easter this year, let us take a moment to reflect deeply on the life and sacrifices of our Lord Jesus Christ. Easter is not just a time for festivities and joyous gatherings; it is a solemn reminder of the immense love and selflessness demonstrated by Jesus through His crucifixion and resurrection. In this season of renewal and rebirth, let us emulate His compassion, forgiveness, and unwavering faith.
“The essence of Easter lies not only in commemorating historical events but also in applying the teachings of Christ to our daily lives. Just as He sacrificed Himself for the salvation of humanity, let us strive to be selfless in our actions, showing love and kindness to those around us. This period serves as a poignant reminder that through faith and perseverance, we can overcome any challenges that come our way.
“In the spirit of Easter, I urge the people of Mburubu to come together in prayer for the betterment of our community. Let us pray for unity, peace, and prosperity, lifting each other up in times of need and rejoicing together in times of blessings. Chief Onuokaibe called for prayers for Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah’s administration, hoping for wise decisions that benefit all residents of Enugu State; citing scriptures such as Matthew 28:6, John 3:16, and Romans 5:8 to underscore the spiritual significance of Easter, emphasizing the hope and promise it brings through the power of resurrection and God’s unconditional love.
“Furthermore, let us not forget to pray for the administration of Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah. May our prayers guide him in making wise decisions that benefit all residents of Enugu State. Together, we can support our leaders and work towards a brighter future for our beloved state.
“During this Easter season, let us remember the words of Matthew 28:6, “He is not here; he has risen!” This declaration reminds us of the power of resurrection and the hope it brings. John 3:16 emphasizes the depth of God’s love, stating, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” And Romans 5:8 beautifully expresses God’s love for us, “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
