Lagos State governor, Mr.Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has said the ongoing E1 Lagos GP will unlock Lagos potential.

Sanwo-Olu stated this yesterday during a short visit to the venue to inspect the activities slated for Day 2 of the racing competition.

He said he was impressed by the turnout of participants at the event noting that the first-ever all-electric powerboat racing competition in Africa has proved the ‘can do’ spirit of Lagosians’.

Sanwo-Olu expressed appreciation to the sponsors, particularly First Bank Plc for driving the initiative and spotlighting the event.

“The first ever EI Lagos GP racing competition isn’t about culture, entertainment, economic, tourism, sports and entertainment alone, it is about unlocking the potentials of Lagos State.

“The event has really opened up a lot of opportunities for Lagosians, by creating the market and also showcasing the potentials of Lagos State,” the governor stated.

Meanwhile, participants, including tourists and business owners at the event expressed their appreciation to the government for creating the platform to showcase their products.

One of the business owners, Chika Nwatbo, said the E1 Lagos GP event has opened her business to other audiences. She said the exhibition has raised the quality of her brand and she was impressed by the turnout.

“It is a big opportunity for me to be part of this event. It has opened up my brand and I have made a lot of friends through this event,” she said.
