Dr. Richie John Onaiwu Honored with Doctorate and Fellowship in Leadership

In a remarkable ceremony held on March 9, 2024, Dr. Richie John Onaiwu, CEO of RichieRich Global Group of companies, was conferred with an honorary doctorate in Leadership and Business Management by America University of Peace & Governance (AUPG), Texas, USA. The investiture also saw Dr. Richie being recognized as a distinguished Fellow (FCIPG) of the Chartered Institute of Peace and Governance (CIPG).

As the Chair of RichieRich Global Group, Dr. Richie has been actively engaged in collaborative efforts with local authorities, particularly in addressing issues such as homelessness, real estate, and the provision of supported healthcare facilities. His impactful contributions have not only created job opportunities but have also played a pivotal role in advancing the careers of several Nigerians in the international entertainment arena.

The investiture ceremony took place at the 13th Edition of the PAN African Leadership Symposium & Honours, held in Kigali, Rwanda. The event featured prominent figures, including H.E Dr. Morie Komba Manye, the High Commissioner for Sierra Leone to the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland, and Major General Dayo Olukoju (retired), among others, who were also invested as Fellows.

Dr. Richie received his honorary doctorate from AUPG from Professor Kevin Nwanna Uchechukwa, while the distinguished Fellowship of CIPG was conferred upon him by H.E. Ambassador Dr. Johnathan Ojadeh, Global President & Chairman Supreme Council, UNIPGC.

The honorary doctorate and fellowship by AUPG and CIPG are prestigious acknowledgments granted to individuals who have significantly contributed to leadership and the promotion of peace. In his acceptance speech, Dr. Richie expressed immense pride, stating, “It is an enormous honor to receive this conferment from America University of Peace & Governance and the Chartered Institute of Peace and Governance.”

Dr. Richie emphasized his deep connection to exemplary leadership, drawing on his experience as an immigrant in diaspora. He highlighted the importance of individual responsibility in inspiring those in vulnerable positions and called for a commitment to peace and effective governance.

The ceremony concluded with a gala dinner, bringing together leaders from various fields, and a meaningful tour of the city of Kigali, including a visit to the genocide memorial site. Dr. Richie’s achievements and commitment to community welfare underscore the significance of his honorary doctorate and fellowship, marking a momentous occasion in his distinguished career.
