The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Domo, a subsidiary of Design Union Limited, Mr Anthony Aihie, has said the company was established to complement conventional real estate offerings by providing a private, flexible and purpose-built space for work, relaxation and team activities.
Aihie made the statement in a release made available to Daily Sun, describing Domo as an urban retreat designed to give corporate organisations, groups and individuals an alternative to the traditional hotel experience.
According to him, Domo provides a combination of accommodation, meeting facilities, dining, wellness and recreational activities in a quiet environment, allowing guests to work, relax and reconnect away from the distractions of busy city centres.
Located at 12/14 Meadow Hall Way, Elegbusi-Lekki, Lagos, Domo is about 30 minutes from the major business districts of Victoria Island, Ikoyi and Lekki.
Aihie said the location was deliberately chosen to offer easy access while keeping guests away from the noise, traffic and pressure associated with the city.
“Domo is essentially a small-scale urban retreat designed for corporate teams who want more than a conventional hotel meeting. It is close enough to be practical for a working day, yet deliberately removed from the noise, traffic and routine that can prevent people from thinking clearly,” he said.
He explained that Domo was built around ideas drawn from Edo and Japanese cultures, particularly respect for nature, balance, precision and beauty with purpose.
The concept is reflected in its Japanese-inspired garden, koi pond, spacious apartments, wellness facilities and Edo Restaurant, which offers Nigerian-Japanese cuisine.
Unlike conventional hotels, Aihie said Domo was designed on a smaller scale to provide privacy and a more personalised experience.
“When a company or a group of individuals come to Domo, the experience feels personal, focused and private. The team has room to meet, share meals, recharge and reconnect in one coherent setting, without the distractions of a large, impersonal venue,” he said.
He added that the facility could be adapted for different purposes, including leadership retreats, strategy meetings, workshops, team-building programmes and staff appreciation events.
According to him, Domo can provide customised half-day or multi-day experiences combining meeting spaces, accommodation, dining, wellness treatments and recreational activities.
He said the idea was to provide organisations with an environment where their teams could step away from their normal routine, interact more freely and return to work with renewed energy and clearer focus.
Beyond corporate use, Aihie said Domo also caters to individuals, families and couples seeking a quiet place to relax.

He added that the Edo Restaurant, which also offers Sunday brunch and a Nigerian-Japanese fusion menu, was another attraction for visitors.
