The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State, has elected Umar Dogowa as its new state Chairman Doguwa, former Commissioner of Higher Education, succeeded Abdullahi Abbas whose tenure had elapsed.
The election outcome was determined by consensus and was jointly announced by the Chairman of the National Congress Committee of the party, Latep Debang and the state chairman of the Congress Committee, Rabiu Bichi.
Doguwa, pledged to unify the party. “We will work together to build a formidable party capable of delivering success at the polls and advancing the interests of our people,” he stated.
Governor Yusuf reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to prioritising Kano’s development and strengthening party cohesion.
He noted that the party in the state would align itself with the federal government to attract greater democratic dividends to the state.
In attendance at the Congress held at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano were the Governor, Deputy Senate President, Barau Jibrin, party stakeholders and about 2,430 delegates.
