After making a scoring return in the 3-1 win against Hoffenheim in his first Bundesliga match since November, Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface says his target is to help Bayer Leverkusen beat Cologne.

Leverkusen hosts the derby rival in tonight’s DFB Pokal quarter-final single-leg game at the BayArena.

Boniface, on whether the team is excited for the DFB Pokal derby against Köln, said: “Yeah, we’re looking forward to it. As you said, it’s a derby, so we know how tough the game will be, and we are 100% focused on getting the win.”

Meanwhile, Xabi Alonso, who’s looking forward to the tense quarter-final derby match, gave an update on Nathan Tella’s injury.

“It is not too bad. We hope to have him in the squad in the DFB Pokal against Köln today.”
