DEPOWA commended for tackling breast cancer

From Okwe Obi, Abuja

The Women for Society Enhancement has commended the leadership of the Defence and Police Officers Wives Association (DEPOWA), led by Oghogho Gwabin Musa, for tackling breast cancer.

Its Convener, Modele Akande, in a statement on Monday, noted that the sponsorship of 20 barracks women between the ages of 40 and above on Mammograms was a good initiative that good-spirited individuals should key in.

Akande added that the gesture would make life meaningful for wives of personnel and women from all the services and police associations to tackle insecurity.

He noted that Musa she has not only maintained the sustainable structure she met on ground, but has continued to elevate the status of DEPOWA.

Recall that Musa made the pledge at the bi-monthly DEPOWA Health Walk aimed at keeping the Barrack Community fit at Mogadishu Cantonment Parade Ground.

“Breast cancer is one of the prevalent causes of death among women and have remain a source of concern.

“We want to commend the DEPOWA President, Mrs Oghogho Musa for the initiative aimed at tackling breast cancer. Breast cancer knows no boundary.

“We are very sure this will further boost morale of personnel of the Armed Forces of Nigeria as they continue to make sacrifices for the peace and stability of our country,” the statement read.
