Engaging Borders SRD, a peacebuilding organisation in Northern Nigeria, has unveiled the Delimi Prosper Project, a new initiative to curb recurring resource-based conflicts in Plateau and Kaduna States.

The project will empower at least 150 young people, including women and persons with disabilities, through training on peace education, digital advocacy and conflict-sensitive storytelling. It will also support grassroots campaigns aimed at reducing farmer–herder clashes, land and water disputes, as well as divisive narratives that often spread on social media during crises.

Beyond training, the programme will feature a podcast series, two mini-documentaries and youth-led digital content designed to counter misinformation online. It will also convene “Peace Public Square” dialogues, bringing together youth, traditional leaders and civil society groups in communities across Plateau and Kaduna to discuss practical solutions. Speaking on the initiative in a statement on Monday, Suleiman Yusuf, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning consultant for the project, said it was focused on addressing division through innovation and inclusion.

“Through digital innovation and community-led programs, we want to replace mistrust with collaboration. Everything we are doing is focused on creating sustainable ways to peaceful coexistence and resource management between communities across Kaduna and Plateau States,” Yusuf stated. Founded in 2021 by Nigerian writer and PCVE strategist, Richard Ali, Engaging Borders SRD has previously used arts, media and dialogue to promote non-kinetic approaches to peace. The group has produced documentaries in Nigeria and East Africa spotlighting violence and violent extremism.

According to the organisation, the Delimi Project builds on these earlier efforts, while targeting conflict hotspots in Northern Nigeria by amplifying local voices and promoting inclusive participation.
