Dangote Refinery slashes ex-depot petrol price from N880 to N865/litre

Emefiele moved mountains to ensure completion of 18.5bn refinery – Dangote

Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals has announced a reduction in its ex-gantry loading cost for petrol, now set at N865 per litre, down from N880. Sources confirmed that the $20 billion refinery notified its marketers and customers of the price adjustment on Thursday.

An official from the refinery confirmed the reduction in price, following a meeting earlier this week between Dangote Refinery representatives and the Minister of Finance, Wale Edun, on Tuesday. The government reiterated that the naira-for-crude policy remains in effect, emphasizing that it is not a temporary measure but a crucial policy initiative aimed at fostering sustainable local refining. The policy is set to continue uninterrupted, overriding the previous decision made under former NNPCL head Mele Kyari, which had temporarily suspended the initiative.
