Christian Women Fellowship International (CWFI), a women group of Church of God Mission International, yesterday, announced it has impacted over 2.5 million women with skills acquisition, interest-free loans and empowerment in several sectors since its founding 50 years ago by Margaret Idahosa, archbishop of Church of God Mission International.
International President of CWFI, Julie Akhimien, disclosed this while briefing newsmen on the forthcoming 50th convention of the organisation to coincide with Golden Jubilee celebrations in Benin, Edo State from August 5 to 11.
She further disclosed that 50 scholarships would be awarded to orphans and indigent students who are children of members at the event.
Akhimien said CWFI’s focus is on Christ, adding that the body is trans-denominational. “It is upholding the dignity of womanhood in all facets. CWFI is for every woman who loves, who wants to serve God,” she said.
Also, CWFI Vice President, Nnenna Godson, said over 30,000 women from all parts of the world are expected to attend the convention, adding, “the celebration will be outstanding.”
She said, at the event, which will be hosted by Idahosa, women will learn and draw strength from the teachings they would receive to change their family lives back home.
Besides, Godson disclosed over N20 million has been spent to procure items to empower women at the convention.
