Cult war rages in Rivers
- Police gun down notorious cultist ‘General’, 2 others

The Ahoada Police Division of the Rivers State Police Command, on Sunday, foiled a supremacy battle between Iceland and Greenland cult groups in the Udebu community, Ahoada East Local Government Area of the state.
Community sources told Daily Sun that members of the cult groups had mobilised to engage in a supremacy battle in the community at about 5 pm when they were intercepted by the policemen, who were acting on a tip-off.
One of the sources, who gave his name as Michael Odeyi, disclosed that one Mr Bright and two other suspected cultists were fatally wounded by the police in an exchange of gunfire with the hoodlums.
He disclosed that a notorious cultist popularly known as ‘General’, was among the suspects gunned down.
He added that Ikechukwu Uturu aka Old School and others escaped with bullet wounds.
According to the source, items recovered from them by police were one locally fabricated G-3 rifle, a locally fabricated pistol which uses AK 47 ammunition, charms and other dangerous weapons.
The spokesperson for the Rivers State Police Command, Grace Iringe-Koko, a Superintendent of Police (SP), has confirmed that three suspected cultists were fatally wounded by the Police in the Udebu community in an exchange of gunfire.
