The Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church Worldwide (Ayo Ni O) has called for urgent national reflection, practical action and sustained prayers for Nigeria’s healing and restoration ahead of its 57th Annual Mount Horeb Ascension.
The week-long spiritual gathering, scheduled to commence on May 3, is expected to draw worshippers, dignitaries and religious leaders from across the country and beyond.
Speaking ahead of the event, the Church’s Chairman and Spiritual Father, Emmanuel Abiodun Adewale Alogbo, highlighted the country’s pressing challenges, including economic hardship, rising inflation, food insecurity and worsening insecurity.
“Our country faces deepening economic hardship, persistent inflation and widespread food insecurity,” he said, adding that insecurity in the form of kidnapping, banditry, insurgency and farmer-herder conflicts continues to threaten lives and displace communities. While acknowledging the macroeconomic strides of the administration of Bola Tinubu, Alogbo stressed the need for such gains to translate into tangible improvements for ordinary Nigerians. He called for closer monitoring of government initiatives to ensure that economic relief reaches the grassroots.
He also urged political stakeholders to uphold democratic integrity as the nation approaches another electoral cycle, emphasising accountability and responsible governance.
Beyond Nigeria, the Church expressed concern over the ongoing global conflicts, including the Russia–Ukraine War and tensions in the Middle East, calling for ceasefires, humanitarian access, and diplomatic solutions.
It further warned against escalating nuclear tensions and urged global leaders to pursue disarmament.
The Head of the Church’s Prophetic Ministry, Joel Olayinka Adeniran, said the 2026 Ascension, themed, “Covenant of Mercy,” would focus on seeking divine intervention for national and global challenges.
“Mount Horeb is a place of encounter, instruction and transformation. This year, we ascend with a burden for Nigeria and the nations of the world,” he said.
Similarly, the Conference Secretary General, Anthony Olusesan Samaye, described the event as a call to responsibility for leaders, citizens and the Church to act with integrity, unity and compassion.
The event will hold at the Church’s international headquarters, Galilee Land, along the Ilorin-Ibadan Expressway in Orile Igbon, from May 3 to May 10, with daily activities scheduled between 8am and 10pm
Dignitaries expected at the gathering include Francis Olusola Alao, alongside government officials, religious leaders and other notable personalities. Gospel ministers, including Bisi Alawiye-Aluko, are also billed ministers.
The Mount Horeb Ascension, inspired by the biblical account of Moses’ encounter with God in the Book of Exodus, remains one of the Church’s flagship spiritual programmes, drawing thousands annually for prayer, worship and prophetic engagement.
