The Cross River State House of Assembly has passed 30 bills and 83 resolutions within the last two years.

The speaker of the assembly Elvert Ayambem disclosed this during a special session to mark the end of the second legislative year of the 10th Assembly.

Giving some insight into the legislations passed by the assembly, the speaker listed some of the bills to include “Cross River State Security Trust Fund Bill, 2024 and the  Cross River State Records and Archives Bill, 2024.

“Others include the Cross River State Climate Change Bill, 2024, Cross River State University of Education and Entrepreneurship Bill, 2024   and the Cross River State Records and Archives  Bureau Law 2024”, he said.

He emphasized that the 10th Assembly has  lived up to its constitutional responsibility by making laws for the peace, order and good governance of our dear State.

He thanked the Governor of the state for the synergy with the House, in terms of Legislature/Executive relationship and for his timely and prompt assent to Bills.

The speaker also said the House passed eighty-three  resolutions and  most of them have  been fully complied with by the executive arm.
