A 30-year-old man, Hammed Azeez, was on Tuesday sentenced to one-year imprisonment by an Osun State magistrate court sitting in Osogbo, for stealing pumping machines valued at N705,000.
The prosecutor, Fagboyinbo Abiodun, told the court that the convict stole the machines at Ideal Nest Hotel, Osogbo.
Abiodun explained that the convict committed the crime on 6th April 2022 at about 3.04 am.
According to the charge sheet, the offences were contrary to and punishable under sections 516 and 390(9) of the criminal code cap 33 vol 11, laws of Osun State, 2022.
The convict admitted guilty to the crime and prayed to the court to be merciful with him.
The Magistrate, O. A. Daramola, thereby sentenced the convict to one-year imprisonment with an option of a fine of N200,000.
