The Coalition of South East Youth Leaders (COSEYL) has congratulated Aloysius Emeka Attah on his appointment as Director of Information and Public Relations, at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, describing the development as well-deserved and timely.
In a statement issued by its President-General, Goodluck Ibem, the group said Attah’s emergence, through what it called a “rigorous, transparent and merit-driven selection process”, reflects his professional competence, integrity, and track record in strategic communication.
COSEYL noted that the appointment places “a round peg in a round hole,” stressing that Attah’s experience in journalism and public communication would add value to the university’s image management.
“Over the years, Mr. Aloysius Emeka Attah has distinguished himself as a seasoned journalist and communication expert, bringing clarity, depth, and credibility to public discourse. His wealth of experience, particularly from his time with The Sun Newspapers, a highly respected national media outfit, has equipped him with the insight and expertise required to effectively manage the image and communication architecture of a dynamic academic institution,” the statement read.

The group expressed confidence in Attah’s capacity to reposition the institution’s public relations system, enhance visibility, and strengthen stakeholder engagement.
“We are confident that in his new role, he will bring to bear his vast experience, professionalism, and innovative approach to reposition the university’s public relations machinery for greater efficiency, visibility, and global relevance. His appointment signals a renewed commitment to excellence, transparency, and strategic engagement with stakeholders,” COSEYL stated.
The youth body also commended the university’s governing council and management for prioritising merit in making the appointment.
They wished Attah a successful tenure, expressing optimism that his leadership would bring impactful contributions that would further elevate the stature of the university.
