Super Eagles Christantus Uche has admitted that his current reality is one of the toughest moments of his career, acknowledging the difficulty of accepting that he will spend a prolonged period away from football.
“Today is one of the toughest days of my career,” Uche wrote on his Instagram page.
“Following the latest medical tests, it has been confirmed that my knee injury is serious and that I face a long recovery process.”
The former Crystal Palace midfielder also opened up about the emotional impact of the injury, explaining why being away from the pitch will be difficult for him.
“I won’t lie: accepting that I will be sidelined for a while is hard. Football is my passion, my job, and what makes me happiest, and now I have to face a situation I never imagined.”
Despite the severity of the setback, Uche insisted that he is determined to approach the rehabilitation process with the right mentality.
“But challenges are part of the journey, too. I am going to face this period with strength, patience, and determination, working every day to get back to doing what I love most: playing football.”
Uche also thanked those who have supported him since the injury, including his family, teammates, coaching staff and Getafe’s medical team.
“I want to thank my family, my teammates, the coaching staff, the medical team, and the entire Getafe CF family from the bottom of my heart for standing by me.”
