The commemoration commenced with a solemn wake held at the open field of Mees Palace, Rayfield, where an atmosphere of reverence enveloped the gathering. Family members, friends, well-wishers, and representatives of the state governor, H.E Barr. Caleb Mutfwang, converged to pay homage to Mrs. Danladi’s remarkable life, sharing anecdotes and reflecting on the profound impact she had on each of them. Simultaneously, a parallel gathering unfolded in Shendam, her beloved hometown, where the echoes of love and admiration for the departed soul reverberated through the community.
Reflecting on the somber yet uplifting occasion, a dear friend in Shendam remarked, “It was a beautiful testament to Mrs. Danladi’s enduring spirit and the lives she touched. Her legacy of kindness and generosity will forever resonate within our hearts.”
The following day dawned with a poignant farewell as Mrs. Danladi was laid to rest in the tranquil embrace of her ancestral home in Shendam. What began as a solemn interment transformed into a vibrant celebration of life, as heartfelt tributes and fond memories illuminated the path she tread and the lives she enriched.
“I saw my mother dying, and if money was going to save her, she would be here, but I could not save my mother. This makes me to realise that I do not want to be know for how much I have but the lives I was able to touch,” Chief Kefas shared, encapsulating the collective sentiment of those present.
The family she left behind was called upon to be prayed for by the clergymen present.
